In this position, you will research, develop, customize, and maintain complex Lucene/ SOLR-based seaerch engine.
• While focused on Lucene/SOLR, you must also understand database infrastructure to identify root causes of problems.
• You will serve as the search system architect for search-related development. You will conduct impact analyses and projections for new applications, system upgrades, and software enhancements.
• You will collaborate with other teams to ensure compatibility, performance, and maximum production uptime.
• Responsible for designing highly complex solutions with high transaction volumes.
• Serves as the technical and technology expert supporting the crafting of the application architecture aspects of the product, as well as supporting the implementation of the solution. Interacts with key technical managers, tech leads and customer experts in order to understand the technology employed and the business requirements.
• Provides validation of proposed technical architectures and solutions.
• In coordination with others, monitors and analyzes production performance, while looking for ways to optimize and scale existing solutions.
• Ensures strategies, standards, and architecture are consistent and well integrated across the project
•Create methods for improving search-related analytics.
• Create methods for monitoring, measuring, and analyzing production server performance.
•Demonstrate familiarity with Tokenizing, synonym phrases, NLP, elastic search, intelligent searching, and Fusion.
•Assist with training and mentoring your team members in Lucene/SOLR.
•Proven understanding of enterprise software applications and network infrastructure.
•Research and recommend new software products for the product
•Understand, build, configure, and troubleshoot APIs.
• Demonstrate deep knowledge of and experience with the Lucene/SOLR search platform and query tuning.
• Document, in detail, all customization, bug fixes, etc.
Qualifications:
Experience in Solr & Lucene.
Very strong hands on programming knowledge in PhP
Experience with building large-scale distributed indexing & search systems. Excellent problem solving and multi-tasking skills, with a creative and flexible attitude Knowledge of Angular, MySQL and Core PHP is a plus
Contributions to the open source Apache SOLR project is a plus
Experience with related Apache projects such as Zookeeper, Camel etc. is a plus
